AkzoNobel Intensifies Efforts to Combat Counterfeit Paint
With the Vietnamese market receiving numerous reports from consumers suffering significant losses from using counterfeit paint, AkzoNobel, the producers of Dulux and Maxilite paint, has officially reaffirmed its commitment to product quality and announced support activities to help customers identify genuine products.
AkzoNobel continues to implement its brand protection strategy, which includes improving packaging using modern anticounterfeiting technology, building a network of authorised Dulux and Maxilite partner stores, and training local authorities in identifying counterfeit products, while coordinating with relevant agencies to handle infringements.
Currently, all Dulux and Maxilite paint containers feature anticounterfeiting labels with visual identification features. Customers can verify authenticity by changing the viewing angle to see the brand clearly visible on the label. When peeled off, the label reveals the words ‘Dulux’ and ‘Maxilite’.
Specifically for putty, the label adheres to the back of the package and incorporates a water-activated feature to reveal the text, making identification simple and accurate at the time of purchase.
