It’s the Year of the Dragon for Crypto-Stamps
The world’s first multilateral crypto-stamp has been issued by postal authorities in Luxembourg, Austria, Netherlands, and Belgium, as a limited edition, marking the fact that these digital-physical collectors’ items are continuing to gain traction.
Crypto-stamps consist of two parts: a classic physical postage stamp, with a face value and unique number, and its associated unique digital twin. The latter is stored on a blockchain as a non- fungible token (NFT), representing proof of ownership and allowing for the viewing, collecting and trading of the stamp in the digital space.

The new, multilateral edition features a colourful dragon, created by Austrian designer Lisa Filzi, and consists of four different physical stamps (one for each country). When the stamps are placed next to each other, they form a shared background motif. In addition, while the physical design stays the same for each country, the digital twin comes in five different background colours. This means there are a total of 20 digital twins across the four stamps.
