OpSec Group Expands Brand Enhancement Offering

OpSec Group has completed the acquisition of Global Trim Sales, Inc, a provider of premium trim to the fashion and apparel industry, based in California. This acquisition will extend the OpSec brand enhancement offering in the consumer goods and sports industries.

Global Trim’s portfolio of trim and merchandising components includes labels, hang tags, heat transfers, patches, packaging, and metal and plastic products (such as buttons and zip pulls).

This is a family enterprise that I look forward to welcoming into our team and working together to take enhancement and authentication to the next level.’ 

With its own presence in trim technologies, OpSec Group already offers components that blend enhancement with security, principally for sports and apparel brands. For example, it provides brand authentication solutions to the UK Football Association (FA) for protecting licensed apparel and merchandise sporting the iconic FA three lions emblem.

The solutions include:

  • OpSec Protect: a serialised holographic label, featuring the FA emblem. The holographic element features a full colour FA crest, with the ‘For All’ logo, overlaid over a football pitch background with white line art pitch markings. A two-channel switch effect converts the background to text. When viewed at an acute angle, a 2D-3D repeat of the FA logo is visible.

Microtext adds further security, including a kinetic side panel with contrasting text. Finally, hidden ‘FA’ text can be revealed using a handheld laser reader.

  • OpSec Enhance: a range of distinctive heat-applied silicone badges, branded swing tickets, and product presentation elements to provide a consistent brand look and feel and to aid consumer recognition.
