OpSec Invests in Europe’s First HP Indigo 6K Secure Digital Press

OpSec Security has announced its investment in Europe’s first HP Indigo 6K Secure Digital Press, which offers both security and flexibility with its single-pass productivity and secure variable data options.

With this new technology, OpSec says it will provide brand owners and tax stamp issuers with the ability to integrate highly secure and unique authentication and design features into labels and packaging.

Another strong feature of the press is its ability to place unique identifiers in numerous locations on a label, packaging, or tax stamp. This allows for greater personalisation capability while linking authentication and consumer engagement data back to OpSec® Insight, the company’s secure traceability platform.

The integration of dedicated security design software from Jura will also contribute to OpSec’s responsive design methodologies, by providing a method for controlling variable data and creating unique overt and covert security features in one pass on the press. These include features such as variable microtext, encrypted serialised data and serialised latent images.

OpSec advised that the HP Indigo 6K Secure Press, in conjunction with its OVD (optical variable device) technologies, is set to play a central role in the company’s offering to brand owners and tax stamp issuers in their ongoing fight against illicit trade.

Steven Proudfoot, Product Director for Government Solutions at OpSec commented: ‘by investing in this leading secure digital print technology, the scope of authentication projects OpSec can undertake becomes almost unlimited. For our government and brand clients, a fully customised and volume-flexible solution is possible, but with no compromise on the level of optical security or digital traceability’.
