Germania Mint Unveils Black Light Colours
At the recent World Money Fair (WMF), Germania Mint unveiled a special release coin featuring Black Light Colours technology.
The 2025 Germania Black Silver WMF Edition coin utilises the Mint’s Black Light Colours – a technology born from anticounterfeiting security – to showcase vibrant hidden colours when held under UV light. The coin is the first of its kind, with previous applications of UV reactive paints limited to single-colour effects.
The Mint has said that the technology can be used as an advanced security feature for investment products and circulation coins, in addition to its current application on collectible coins.
The mintage of the special release coin has been limited to 500 pieces.
