Crane NXT Secures First Micro-Optics Contract
Crane NXT has secured its first microoptics contract through the OpSec Security channel with a luxury perfume brand. Under the contract, the company will combine physical label technology with a digital authentication solution for increasing consumer engagement with the brand, as well as online brand protection services to enable the customer to remove counterfeit products from online marketplaces.
‘I’m just very encouraged by this first win, and it is a new customer for us. And I think it’s a proof point in our strategy of bringing together OpSec with our technology,’ said Crane NXT CEO Aaron Saak, during the company’s Q4 2024 earnings conference call in February.
‘And the core of this is that it’s validating our belief with how customers are looking to us to buy a full suite of authentication solutions,’ he continued. ‘That’s our unique value proposition combining the companies together. The sales process here takes many months, as you can tell from when we closed OpSec (in May 2024). But that’s typical going forward, and the beauty is that these are very sticky contracts with a recurring nature to them, particularly in the services, and we expect more to come from what we see in the funnel.’
