Global Pharma Chooses AI Tech to Aid Counterfeit Investigations
Anticounterfeit technology provider TrueMed has announced that a top- 10 global pharmaceutical company has selected TrueMed’s AI-driven solution to strengthen its counterfeit drug investigations.
The solution is based on fingerprint validation technology, aided by artificial intelligence (AI). Using a TrueMed mobile app, investigators capture images of suspect packages, guided by augmented reality cues. The app sends the images to the TrueMed digital forensic lab platform, which uses AI to compare them to a ‘ground truth’ image (or verification target), which typically consists of a section of the carton packaging.
Tailored AI algorithms are used to compare the size and shape of the suspect package, its colours, gradients, graphics, typography and print quality. Minor discrepancies are sifted out through various methods, leaving only significant discrepancies between the verification target and suspect package, which are then graded by severity.
Following this, the system delivers its findings to the user, along with a comprehensive set of analytical data.
