Aware Integrates Tracer into Recycled Polyester Yarn

Traceability solution provider Aware claimed to have achieved the ‘world’s first’ fully infield-traceable recycled polyester.

Following two years of rigorous testing and collaboration with Avient Corporation Shanghai and Zhejiang Haili Environmental Technology Co, it has successfully integrated its Aware tracer into recycled polyester filament yarn, ensuring traceability throughout the production process – from yarn creation to the final garment.

The pivotal element in this breakthrough is the Aware tracer, now detectable infield using the Aware hand scanner.

This provides brands and retailers with an advanced level of transparency and traceability. By instilling confidence in the authenticity of recycled polyester products, Aware aims to contribute to a more sustainable future.

Aware has also introduced a Digital Product Passport (DPP) for items crafted with its recycled polyester yarn to empower consumers to verify the authenticity of their purchases. The DPP fully complies with upcoming European Union (EU) legislation, including the EU Green Deal, ensuring brands and manufacturers are prepared for evolving sustainability standards.
