Authentix and ARMOR-IIMAK Launch Security Ink in Form of Thermal Transfer Ribbon

Authentix has announced an exclusive partnership with ARMOR- IIMAK, a global player in the thermal transfer ribbon printing industry, to provide brand owners and their authorised contract manufacturers with a new covert security ink available in thermal transfer ribbon format.

The ribbons were co-developed by the two companies, and are exclusively manufactured by and available through Authentix. They comprise a specialised, covert ink that is drop-in ready and compatible with most thermal transfer ribbon printers on the market today.

The ribbons are available in different roll formats, enabling brand owners and manufacturers to easily transition between normal and security printing by changing the printer ribbon. They can be applied to a wide range of existing industries that use thermal transfer ribbon printing, including apparel, footwear, automotive, and electronics.

As part of a secure brand protection programme, the ribbons offer the ability to print visible (black) and covert linear and 2D barcodes in one printing pass. The printed codes can be authenticated instantly using the Authentix Traceless® Ultra handheld analyser. In addition, unique codes can be combined with the Authentix DigiTrax™ software for item-level cloud-based track and trace.
