HSP Asia Heads to Sri Lanka
The organiser of the High Security Printing™ (HSP) conferences, Reconnaissance International, has announced the programme for the upcoming HSP Asia event, which takes place in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 4-6 December 2023.
All arrangements are now in place, and attendance is likely to be at capacity for the three-day event, which includes three pre-conference seminars and two days of plenary sessions split into twin tracks covering currency and identification. Dr P Nandalal Weerasinghe, of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka will inaugurate the plenary sessions on 5 December.
Over 40+ international speakers have confirmed their place. The presenters will discuss what it takes to successfully deliver a new banknote series, modern ePassport, or other identity documents. As government documents become increasingly sophisticated, these experts will share their experience in managing complex projects, and developing winning strategies and innovative new technologies, particularly emphasising the Asia Pacific region.
The pre-conference workshops include an intriguing insight into criminal proceedings against a father and son team who were sentenced in 2022 for manufacturing £977,000 worth of counterfeit banknotes, as well as an exploration of the challenges of digital ID verification, and the mastering of machine authentication for handling high volumes of banknotes.
The event will also host the prestigious Regional Banknote and Regional ID Document of the Year awards, which will be presented during the conference dinner.
