Recycling Technology – A Traceability Opportunity?

The purpose of this article is to outline the reasons we should look at the technologies being deployed for recycling as a potential opportunity. We will look at three technologies in various states of development and set them in context of our industry. The significance of these is that they may provide opportunities as adjuncts to tax stamp programmes at little or no incremental cost to our technologies.

To set this in context I would first like to draw your attention to the front page of the December 2020 edition of Tax Stamp & Traceability News™ (TSTN) where we heard the ‘… International Tax Stamp Association and other industry experts declaring that the start of the new decade heralds an opportunity to capitalise on emerging technology applications that can link stamps to digital traceability systems’. The technologies being introduced for the sorting of waste for recycling could provide a good example of this.
