Award for SICPA’s Latest Handheld Detection Solution
SICPA’s latest generation of handheld detection solutions, SICPAGUARD® HDSense – which is used for checking product authenticity in the field – has been recognised with a 2021 Red Dot Design Award.
The Red Dot Award is an international design competition for products, communications and concepts, which is recognised in relevant circles as one of the best design awards in the world.
Launched in 2019, SICPAGUARD HDSense is the result of a close collaboration between SICPA’s R&D experts and Studio Volpi, a global leading partner for strategic design projects.
SICPAGUARD is a machine-readable solution comprising a security marker integrated into inks or other carriers, and a handheld detection device (HDSense), which enables on-the-spot authentication by end-users.
The device can be linked to a digital detection platform through a secured wireless connection with a smartphone, allowing in-depth inspection monitoring and data analytics.
The solution is based on patented and proprietary technologies and all elements of the solution are developed in-house.
Since 2019, SICPAGUARD HDSense has been implemented within security audits and tax stamp programmes for luxury goods, food and beverages, textiles, electronics, plastics and pharmaceuticals.
