ASPA Forum Urges Unified Strategy to Combat Counterfeiting
The Authentication Solution Providers' Association (ASPA) hosted the 6th edition of the Traceability and Authentication Forum in New Delhi on 17-18 March. The event emphasised the need for stronger anticounterfeiting laws and an increased use of authentication and traceability tools.
ASPA President, Manoj Kochar, Vice President Ankit Gupta, and other governing body members inaugurated the forum. The two-day event featured active participation from industry leaders, government officials, and technology experts, all focused on innovative methods to combat counterfeiting.
Call for unified action
Speakers at the forum stressed the urgent need for India to adopt a unified, nationwide strategy against fake products. They urged the government to establish dedicated task forces, impose stricter penalties for counterfeit goods, and enhance global cooperation.
They also stressed the need to support businesses in implementing new authentication technologies for safeguarding domestic markets and exports. As global demand for traceable, high-quality goods increases, India must act swiftly to stay competitive.
