Predicting Trends That Will Define Stamps and Traceability in 2025

We asked members of the International Tax Stamp Association (ITSA) to share their perspectives on what could define the year ahead, with predictions covering technological innovations, market expansions and evolving sustainability priorities.
Physical security and consolidation are priorities in a shifting landscape Thomas Brücklmeier, International Business Development Manager, Tax Stamps at LEONHARD KURZ, emphasises the enduring importance of physical security features in tax stamps, saying: ‘state-of-the-art physical security features will continue to play a crucial role, in conjunction with application software systems, to enable a high level of protection against counterfeiting’.
Additionally, he highlights the transformative potential of geo-mapping-enabled reporting, which offers deeper insights into taxpayer and consumer behaviour, and concludes that 2025 may also prove to be a year of consolidation. ‘Mergers and acquisitions will continue to take place, and there will be restructuring in companies and governments due to the unsteady situation worldwide.’
